Hey so I have had my iPhone 7 for a few years and plan to keep it longer. I have a lot of experience in iPhone repair but don’t want to break the water seal on my phone if I don’t have to. Now I have this issue with my camera where if I move it to the right, the optical image stabilization starts freaking out and shaking really bad. I have a video linked below of it. I’ve heard magnets might do something but I also don’t want to screw anything up using them. Should I just screw the water seal and replace the camera? They’re like $20 on eBay. What should I do? I don’t think Apple would replace it for free either. They did replace a lot of my phone because I had the “no service” bug but I don’t think I have a warranty on that still. Not sure. I would ditch the water seal and replace the camera. The water seal doesn’t make the phone 100% water proof. It just helps if it comes into little contact with liquids or steam and prevents corrosion on the board overtime. Try reconnecting the camera connector and turn the phone on again. If its doing the same thing than replace the camera. Its super easy. Since you already know about repairing phones, you probably don’t need this guide but I’m just going to put it out there anyways.
