I replaced the old low capacity battery with a new one. Everything worked for about 3 days, after the iphone ran out of power and shut down. It wouldn’t turn on anymore, I thought I had purchased a low quality battery. So I bought a new one.. iphone worked, went to charge normally.. then I let it discharge until it turned off and then it wouldn’t turn on again. Same problem.. does anyone know what could be wrong? When I plug it into the charger nothing happens I just hear a slight popping sound. Any problem on the motherboard? (As long as I didn’t let the iphone completely discharge it worked completely normal and went to charge, maybe it was just discharging a bit faster.) Thanks for any advice.
This is less likely to be an issue with the phone killing batteries, but more likely to be an issue with the phone not being able to charge a battery that is dead. The popping sound is a bit disconcerting? But, it sounds like when you replaced the battery you may knocked some of the little components near the connector off. If you have a multimeter you can do some checking in the connector, but realistically I think you’re better off just having a look. Visual exam first in my experience. Peel back the foam sticker around the battery connector and have a look in this area. See if you can tell if anything is missing or damaged. The components are REALLY tiny so something with some magnification will help.
