Hi, I recently replaced a screen on an iPhone 7 and every went smoothly. I have been doing screen replacements for years now and always take my time. Anyway, this was my first time doing an iPhone 7 and when I plugged the screen in to test it everything worked fine except for the home button. All it took to register a home button press was just resting my finger on the button. If I were to actually go about pressing it like normal it would register about 10 clicks and would vibrate a lot more. I’m not really sure where to go from here.

my issue is the device was originally water damaged and i replaced the audio ic, then home button didnt work at all.. i we through the entire line on the login board and home button and replaced a gazillion parts..home button works now but when i press it, it clicks many times, too sensitive? any help? i replaced the turtle ic (U10)..no fix.. im stuck at what actually controls that button…like a coil…resistor…cap?

the same thing happened to me. just plugged it in and let it fully charge and put it in a cool place. could be bc it overheated
