i recently changed the battery in an iPhone 7. The replacement went smoothly (or so i though). The phone booted up and I started the battery calibration process (charge until 100% and then wait two more hours, then drain the battery then charge it back up). Once the battery was drained, I plugged it back to charge it and left it for a couple hours (after it showed the apple logo). Once I came back a little while later, the phone was completely dead (no vibrations, no force restart, nothing). I tried putting back the original battery but I still don’t get anything. Any Ideas ?

Since replacing the battery obviously involved opening up the phone, I would try making sure all of your connectors are connected properly. Aside from that, I can’t really give an answer for what’s going on. Maybe ESD damage on the logic board? But usually if it’s ESD the symptoms don’t show up that quickly in my experience.

What made you decide it needed a new battery to begin with? One of the ways the tristar chip fails is “can charge, but only if the battery is not stone dead” Are you sure you didn’t have a tristar fault to begin with?If so, send it to your local microsolderer for a new tristar chip.
