I have an iPhone 7 that is not charging when plugged in. I have tested the lightning cable on another phone and it charges just fine, so the cable works. However, when the phone is turned off and I plug it in, it will automatically turn on. Still no charge when fully booted up. Does not show in iTunes either. I have tried using multiple replacement Lightning ports and the same issue will happen where it will turn on automatically when plugged in, but no charge. Any suggestions?
The tristar IC (U2) on the logic board is likely damaged. Take your logic board to a reputable microsoldererand have them solder a new tristar IC onto your board. If you can’t find a reputable microsolderer in your area, you can send your phone to @refectio and Minho (or one of his employees) can microsolder a new tristar IC for you.
