I had an iPhone 7 that needed the screen replaced after it was shattered. I replaced the screen and everything was functioning properly after. In a very short period of time the battery drained, the phone had no service, the phone was warm to the touch and it could not be charged. I put the old screen on and everything was fine. I tried another screen and had the same issues. Two bad screens or might something else be going on? Has anyone had this issue before?

Have you tried doing phone calls on the phone after the screen replacement to test the hardware on the front camera such as: Top microphone (used when speaker phone is activated)Earpiece (Hear during calls)Proximity Sensor (Face detection to turn off screen when phone is put near your ear)Automatic Brightness (Phone adjusts brightness accordingly depending on your environment (sunlight))Front Camera If any of these are faulty they can be the cause of the phone heating up a lot and rapid battery drain indicating one of those things are causing a short circuit resulting in abnormally high power draw. Another thing to check, can you read the IMEI and modem firmware in settings > general > about phone? And also the IMEI displaying when typing *#06# in the phone dialer?

It must be the battery ribbon, change the ribbon or unplug it and plug it
