So my Iphone 7 that i dropped, I planned to repair it, however the bottom half of the screen was completely shattered, i’m skeptical in ordering a replacement screen as the home button has a rip in the cable, any ideas if this would work still?
That home button won’t work. You’ll need to either: Find a reputable phone repair shop that does micro-soldering / board repairs to repair the broken home button.Buy a replacement aftermarket home button. Either the JC latest one that doesn’t require Bluetooth or the HX / YX one that requires no jumper but requires Bluetooth.Get screen replaced by apple, they replace button same time
If the flex cable is torn then the home button will not work and you have three options: Have an entirely cosmetic home button. Either a cosmetic replacement or put your current home button back in. The home button will not function.Order a third party home button replacement (https://www.mobiledefenders.com/blog/uni...). Your home button will be able to partially function, everything except for Touch I.D. will work.Go to Apple for a screen replacement. They’ll completely replace the screen and home button. Your home button will function normally, Touch I.D. and physical presses.
