So I purchased an OEM grade replacement digitizer/lcd combination from a reputable supplier. Once I installed the new screen and powered on the device I noticed LCD discoloration where the rectangular silver block is on the two ribbon cables. It seems to me that the block is too thick as if it’s putting pressure on the lcd from the backside. Anyone ever ran into this issue?

Hi, Thicker blocks are usually only on copy displays. They cause pressure on the screen, you need to check where the placement of it is going, if it’s too high up, then it will usually cause this pressure. Or as an alternative, you can try remove the block, and place kapton tape over the components under it to protect them. :-)
