I have noticed that over the pasts few months when trying to use the camera app, and tap the shutter there is a lot of lag. I have tried to free up all un used apps, videos, photos, and tried reset settings. I don’t want to do a factory reset as its a work phone. What else can I try?
Try updating the device to the most recent available IOS version and see if anything changes. If not, backup the phone and reset it. Then load the phone from the backup and see if the camera still lags. If it does, it likely will need a new camera. I hope this helps!
