Chosen Solution
Hi,I just replaced the battery on my iPhone 8 plus with the iFixit battery. However, when I turn phone back on, all I get on the screen are thin colored lines and kind of a block of lines at top right of screen (see attachments). All the cables are secure in the iPhone. Any idea what could be wrong? Bad screen? Logic board problem? I’m at a loss and hoping someone can offer a solution.Thanks
Hi @fixitorelse, I would start by opening the phone again and disconnect battery, then screen. (Always! disconnect battery first, or bad things can happen.) Clean the contacts on the screen and board with >99% isopropyl alcohol and let it dry for a few minutes. Then reconnect screen, making absolutely sure the connectors are fully seated. I’ve had those symptoma appear when a seemingly connected screen wasn’t fully seated. An almost invisible piece og dust had blocked a pin. If, when you first did the swap, hadn’t first disconnected the battery before the screen, then the screen could be done for.
