I am working on an iPhone XR that was previously water damaged. After trying a new charging port the phone turned on and worked without issue. However, after installing the new charging port into the phone the phone is now starting to boot loop. I have tried a new screen and battery without success and have unplugged the Taptic Engine as well as the charging port antenna flex cable as there was minor corrosion surrounding those connectors on the old charging port. The speaker is unplugged, as well as the SIM card tray and the WiFi antenna cable underneath the speaker. Is this board related?
If it’s water damaged anything can happen. Unless you are getting it running to get data then make it run long enough to get the data. If you are trying to repair it I wouldn’t waste my time. There are to many problems and they will keep popping up constantly. That’s why most shops won’t work on water damaged phones except to retrieve data.
