Chosen Solution
Hi So my screen decided to turn black at work, and now (still at work) it won’t show me the screen.. I can now and then press the power button and see my lock screen… but only for what feels like 0,2 seonds.. everything but the screen is working.. Any ideas to why this is happening ? :)
This is a fairly common issue when it comes to the X as I see this happen fairly often in my shop. You’ll need to get the screen replaced. My recommendation is sticking with OLED. There are LCD replacements for these phones and I typically don’t recommend them because they end up costing you more. Since they use more energy, it’s going to impact battery life and in some cases we’ve seen it damage the connector on the board, which can be fixed, but it’s time consuming as you’ll most likely need to send it off to a specialist. Then there’s soft and hard OLED. Soft is what the manufacturers use as it’s the most durable. Hard is a little cheaper but the OLED panel itself is more fragile and will typically break before the glass will.
