Hello, I repaired my black glass as well as my battery. Everything seems to be ok and the phone boots up and the battery has a charge because it turns on. However, when I try to charge it, nothing will show that it is charging. I suspect that I damaged the wireless charging coil during the back glass repair but I can not get the wired charging port to charge either. Could the charging coil be preventing the wired charger from charging? Do I need to replace the charging coil or could it be something else? I decided to disconnect the wireless charging coil from the logic board thinking that this might help. When I first plugged the phone in it worked and started to charge. However, quickly after that the phone will not recognize any charging. Any suggestions?

Please plug in everything like you found it. If you damaged the coil it will not work and it may be shorting out the battery. You need to make sure that you plugged the new battery correctly and make sure that all of the connections are connected properly. Replacing a back glass is a involved job and you should have had to tear down the whole iPhone 8. if you didn’t you can have your phone checked out by someone that fixes phones. Also you have what they call a “Lightening port” where you plug the iPhone into charge. If the lightening port is damaged the phone will not charge. But you can test to see if your “lightening port” is working by opening your iPhone 8 and getting multi meter like “Fluke 101” make sure you have power coming into your battery port when you plug in the charging cord. Make sure you unplug the battery and check the power at the motherboard.

Well, First of all while replacing the back glass you need to remove everything from the housing and I mean everything from the Logic Board to the Battery to the Lightning Port. As for not charging excessive heat might have damaged the lightning port or the charging chip, You need to test the lightning port and if its working then you might have to change the charging chip. Do let me know what you come across!
