I have this iphone 6 motherboard that works almost fine, exept it wan’t recognise the charging cable, and the message pops up: “This accessory may not be supported”. I have tried “millions” of different cabels, originals too, but it dosn’t work. I can charge it by turning the phone of while it is plugged in, but that is no good… I have tried with diferent ports too, dosn’t make a difference. I have tried updating/restorering the phone, didn’t help. Could it be fixed by jailbreaking the phone and mabye run it on an older ios? Could it be the charging chip (U2)? Thanks for your help :)
one thing that may cause your iPhone to reject your charging cable is that your charging socket/hole/connector may be full of dirt, like lint, or dust. a good way to clean this out is with a toothpick, carefully. alternate scraping the dirt out and blowing in the charger port to loosen the dirt. dirt in the charger hole may cause a poor connection, including the error message
Try a DFU mode restore, if not then it would probably be the tristar chip.
