I have a iPhone 5c. The battery was getting weak in it and would only hold charge for about an hour. After the battery had died the last time it would not turn back on. No matter what trouble shooting steps I took. I fallowed every one I could on Google. Is it just the battery is so fried or could it be another issue. It would make sense that even tho the battery was fried it still turned on when plugged in but no matter how long it’s plugged in nor what button combination I try it will not turn on. I would love to get the phone working again . Any ideas?
Get a new battery first, if you don’t want to do that check the battery voltage. If it is below 3v replace it, if it is above 3 just use a variable PSU or something with it set to 4.3v and charge it.
@kerileighh21 even 3V or more is not a good indication that the battery will maintain a charge. Remember that you have had issues with maintaining of the charge and not the voltage. This looks like a failed battery. There are ways to test batteries but that is above the level of this question. The only thing you want to do at this time, is to replace the battery then re-evaluate. Do not guess or hypothesize unless you have a known-good starting point, like a new battery.
