Hi, I got an older iPhone 6 from a customer that traded it for a newer one. The problem is, that the screen is black, and have tried with another screen to no avail. The iPhone gets recognized by itunes, but it doesnt react to home+lock button press for resetting, and the mute button does not activate the vibrator. The speaker is also mute. Can this one be saved? Are there too many things burned on the logic board to get fixed, or are there some easy tests to perform to make it work?

I think you answered your own question, if the logic board has a lot of burnt out parts then the phone would only be good for that - Parts. Things like the ear speaker, charge port, front camera sensor, home button etc would work on working phones. But most likely not that one

Check if the phone is showing image but no backlight. You can check this by shining a flashlight on the middle of the screen while the phone is turning on at the apple logo part. If it’s displaying image and no backlight then the issue lies within the backlight circuit of the logic board which requires microsoldering to fix the issue. Also this can be a case of long screw damage / damaged screen connectors on logic board.
