Hello, My iphone SE works fine, except, the headphone port. I looked inside, it seems that the metal balls and the covering around it is….worn out, or damaged, or stuck in. I tried fiddling with it and cleaning also, buti think i just made it worse. dont want to replace the whole flex assembly for personal sercurity reasons. (i dont want any third party/used microphone or lightning port microcontroller.) Why would they engineer it like that anyway? geez. each unit should have separate connectors. anyway….my question is, can i cut the flex cable and take the jack from an iphone 5s and microsolder it on my SE to replace it?
Hi Yes you can do this All you need to do is desolder from one cable and apply to another I recommend you use low melt solder as it reduces the chance of ripping the pads on the cable as it’s easily done and use a fine tip Hopefully this helps Thanks:-)
