My iphone x needed a battery change as and new screen. Upon receiving it t he phone won’t let me enter my passcode :( it keeps giving me the error of wrong passcode and I can’t even restore it to factory settings ……help
You need to connect to iTunes, put the phone into dfu mode and restore it back to factory. To put into dfu Press volume up then volume down, then press and hold the power button. The screen should go black. When it does release the power button then press and hold power and volume down together. After 6 or 7 seconds release power but keep holding volume down. You should hear a tone from iTunes and a pop up should say iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode. Click restore to restore your phone. Your password along with all your data will be wiped. When you log in again with your icloud details you should hopefully have a back up to restore your data.
Hi Nina If you are certain this is your phone (such as lock screen wall paper matches) please refrain from further password attempts. If you happen to have synced with a Computer you “trusted” recently you can backup the phone as long as you have not disabled it. Additionally, please try the emergency dial screen and verify you can enter the numbers correctly. It may be possible you received a bad screen and your touches are not entering properly. You would want to avoid disabling phone you only have 10 incorrect attempts. Best of luck!
