Hello, I recently cracked my screen. The phone was functioning since the lcd was displaying lines when turned on. The alarm worked fine and people could call me. All that was broken was the display. I purchased a new screen and replaced it. While replacing the screen I accidentally broke the home button connector, so I also replaced the home button. Now the phone does not respond to anything after assembly. It doesn’t boot up. Does not respond to DFG-mode, the mute switch does nothing. I have quadrible checked all the connectors and everything seems to be connected just fine (I followed several YouTube guides) The only sign of life is when I plug it into the computer - then it vibrates 3 times. I have tried to connect back to the old screen, but now it too stays black. Is the phone dead? Do I move on and buy a new one or is there still hope?
Was the battery unplugged during the screen repair? If the screen cables were unplugged or plugged while battery was connected chances are the backlight circuit went bad on the logic board of the phone. You can shine a flashlight on the screen and see if you can make up a dim image display on the screen indicating no backlight. A reputable repair shop can fix this for you.
