Chosen Solution

Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me. So my iphone X dropped and broke the whole lcd probably because it won’t turn on anymore and if I charge it gets really hot. If I attached the charging cable to my laptop it doesn’t read/recognize and again it gets hot on the upper part. I haven’t sent them to fix yet as I was worried about my data. I wanted to save them first before I hand them to apple. But the thing is I didn’t do any backup and no icloud nor no itunes activated. Any means how am I able to save my data? The third party really is a rip off so I was hoping there are other means where I can do it myself? Thank you.

the logicboard will need repaired, if you want to get data from it dont give it to apple

If you want your data, you can start by stop saying 3rd party is a ripoff, that is just you being cheap. Data recovery is a different business, way more advanced than device repairs. You didn’t do any backups, lose your data, then expect people to perform extensive work for cheap to recover data that may not have high value. That will not work. Preview type payment will not work either, if you can read data, all the expensive work has been done and you have to pay in full. There are shops providing “no data, no pay” service though. As for the repair, it is likely that solder joints inside the board or in the dual layer stacking is damaged. iPhone X has this unique soldered board sandwich design, which may be more sensitive to dropping. Professional board repairs may be able to fix it. Do not trust ANY software that claims to be able to extract data, good luck extracting data using software from a dead phone.

There are some data extracting software online, however I’ve never had the need to actually utilize them. Especially, because it cost a pretty penny. I would suspect that the main issue is on the boards end, and most possibly because the screen is damaged, which I’m assuming you cannot utilize because it’s broken. Look for a quality repair shop around the area. One who specializes on Apple Products. See how much if would cost for data recovery. If they are successful in disassembling the phone, they should be able to inspect the internal damage and see how severe it is. Hopefully they can toss on a test LCD and run a back up recovery for you and charge you for the service for that. Then you can ask them to reassemble the device, take it to Apple, and seek warranty. If you got it of course. Good luck
