Hey guys - here’s a weird one I’m having. I replaced a broken charge port on my iPhone X with a 3rd party connector from online. The phone has now started rebooting every 3-5 minutes. As in I can use the phone, everything functions, all services work, but somewhere around that 3-5 minute mark the thing just reboots. Black -> apple logo -> home screen. Even weirder, I can log into the phone, use it for a minute or so, and if I lock the phone and leave it idle it does not reboot. So I can periodically use it and it’s fine. But if I use it for 3-4 mins it auto reboots. Has anyone experienced this before? Have tried a hard reset, haven’t tried any software related resets as I figured that everything on the software side of things should be fine as the phone was working perfectly fine prior to the repair (minus the charging port that got damaged). I don’t know if doing a reset is a good idea as I don’t know if this boot loop will occur when in a recovery environment. If anyone has any info about getting debug information related to the reboots that would be great as I’d really like to know the cause… Every screw was pulled from and put back into it’s proper place so I don’t believe a ribbon cable tear is an issue here… I’ve seen other mentions of similar occurrences here but nobody seems to have an answer or has updated their posts with what they did to solve the issue. I have a high quality microscope and extensive knowledge in microsoldering should that be needed. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a faulty charging port. Try putting the old one back in and see it if it reboots then.

iPhone X is really picky about charge ports. Buy the most expensive one you can find, or an OEM pull. The cheap ones will not work—what you describe above can be a bad “new” charge port.
