Chosen Solution
Hi, I have an iPhone XS which won’t stop charging. It just shows the battery charging symbol and it won’t go past that. I’ve had it charging for a while and nothing changed. It only draws around .100 amps through the charge port. It boots with dc power however crashes soon after fully booting. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I can’t access panic logs because the phone isn’t booted for long enough. I’ve tried a new battery but nothing changed. Thank you
hello Colby, if it’s leaking through 100mA charging port, you’ve got the first suspect - dock tape. Disconnect the tape and try to start the phone. If it boots up normally you have a solution, if not you have to go deeper (due to lack of tape it will reset every 170 seconds but that’s normal symptom). This is a good test for home conditions, in a workshop, I would take out the motherboard and only with the laboratory power supply run the board. If the problem is in this part, it will be visible enough to view closely. regards & fingers crossing
