Will certain parts of the 80, 120, 160 GB ipods also work for the older 30GB iPod Classic? Specifically:
- the Headphone Jack & Hold Switch Replacement and
- Click Wheel Button? If yes, which Headphone jack - thick or thin?
Cam, the 30GB is most likely a 5th gen Video (often mistakenly referred to as Classic. Yes other parts from a higher GB 5th gen will interchange, but not from a Classic (6th/7th gen). The two items you are inquiring about, do interchange within the same model.
I’ve compiled a list based on my research, noting major differences. Hope Its helpful to everyone. I site everymac.com and Wikipedia as my main sources. Hope the forum allows corrections(i’m sure i have a couple), let me know if you find any.
