I have a 7th generation iPod Classic with 160GB (A1238 model). It works perfectly well when connected to external power. At that time, the battery is shown as fully charged also. However, if I disconnect it from external power, it does not even come up. Have tried Reboot (Select+Menu) etc but in vain. I have tried to drain the battery but as soon as I remove the external power, the display and the iPod shutdown immediately. Hence battery is never drained. Any idea what could be wrong?
