I have been repairing iPods, iPhones, and other small electronics for a few years now and this has completely got me stumped. I have a White iPod Touch 4th generation 32GB that will not recognize wifi networks at all. I have tired everything! I have restored the iPod, rest the network setting, rest the iPod. I have also installed 3 different wifi antennas and still nothing. And before anyone asks there is nothing wrong with my wifi network or my router I can connect all of my other devices to it with no problem. I have tired to search the internet to figure out what may be causing this problem and how I can fix it with no prevail. I have not been able to find anything about this issue and how it can be fixed. I am open to any suggestions as I would really love to learn what is wrong with this iPod. Someone please help me!!
I have had problems similar. The router connects all other devices, but not my ipad.I fixed this by resetting the router.I know you said your router works fine, but sometimes the ipod is the only thing that will not connect.Make sure you put the internet code in too.Sign out and sign in by forgetting network.Does it pick up networks, but not connect??Please tell me and I will help…..
Try this first. Try to connect to wifi just next to the router. In my experience ipod touch 4th generation wifi works without antenna at least 5 feet around the router. Antenna is necessary after 5 feet distance. That way you can see if it has antenna problem or motherboard problem. Good luck …
Sounds like damaged motherboard end of the wireless, most likely the wifi chip, it might look like it’s turned on but if the chip is damaged it might not be able to recognise the incoming signal.
