We really need to to know your exact model as the upgrade paths differ, For instance, here the upgrades for the 2012 model and you can go up to a 6TB or 8TB drive https://eshop.macsales.com/upgrades/imac… You also have to address the run away fan issue by using the heat sensor adapter
