My daughter ran over her iPad Mini. It will not cut off, the screen looks fried but it’s not cracked. The alarm clock still works and I can still tap it to snooze. The iPad is bent on one side, but looks perfectly normal elsewhere – I was using an otter for protection; however the top of the otter was not on when it was run over – just the back. After reading some of the IFIXIT techniques, I am wondering if I would even be able to open it without issues.

Use the below guides to check your battery and LCD. If your battery is damaged at all replace it. Even if it isn’t, you should replace it. Because the alarm still works, the motherboard sounds fine. Disconnect and reconnect the LCD cable, and make sure it isn’t bent. If you don’t feel like doing the somewhat difficult operating on it, it’s probably about as cheap to fix it as you can buy a new one. If its an iPad mini 1st gen, then don’t bother. Apple no longer updates this model for iOS. The last update was 9.3.5 and its now up to 10.3, so you are missing a lot. Getting a housing, new LCD and simply moving the logic board over would cost more time and headache than simply buying a used iPad Mini 2nd that works.

It’s not worth fixing most likely bad LCD battery and shell and that would cost like $100 you can get a new unit for that and just sell this for 20 bucks on eBay thanks
