Chosen Solution

I got my Lenovo Flex 14API for Christmas in 2019, and it’s been a great machine so far. However, the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module it shipped with was Realtek garbage (Bluetooth audio quality was pretty bad), so I replaced it with an Intel one. Ever since then, the screws have been coming loose and falling out. Even after tightening them, they would start coming loose again after a few days. Despite my best efforts, the case finally gave way.

As you can see in the pictures, I wrapped medical tape around the corner of the shell to keep the piece that broke off from disjoining again. However, this is far from a perfect solution, and opening/closing the lid has now become practically like a game of roulette. A new shell costs ~$100+, which is way more than I want to be spending on two pieces of plastic. Does anybody have any tips for how I can fix this? I don’t really need permanent fixes; just good enough to extend the life until I can afford a new laptop. I’d appreciate assistance on this!

There are plastic welding tools you can get. It is possible to fix breaks like this, but this all depends on how cool you are with opening the device up, and how comfortable you are with melting the plastic. Otherwise, if you don’t want to spend the $100 for a new shell see if you can get one second hand if you can get one from eBay, or attempt to salvage one from a trashed unit.
