My brother dropped/threw my ps4 at around 4 foot , it landed on flat floor. I was hoping to try and fix it as i can not afford a new one, the back of the ps4 is where the most of the damage has happened. The white plastic shell has popped off and the top of the casing is now lifting up, as i don’t know many of the correct terms for the ps4 i included images hopefully this is more clearer. When I turn the console on it whurs and sort of wheezes? I hope only the aesthetic of the console was damaged and there was no internal damage done.
The top cover you can remount. Simply pull from the front top panel there are 3 clips. One on the left, middle and right. The right one in particular is hard to unclip so might require quite a bit of force upwards to unclip. Bottom cover seems like just exterior damage hopefully. Hard Disk Drive (HDD) might be bad. Try booting the PS4 without the HDD installed and see if it displays the black screen with white text. If yes it may just be a bad hard drive. If you have a spare 2.5” laptop HDD lying around you can use that to test on the PS4.
