My toddler took my phone out of a chair and into her kiddie pool when I put the dog on our porch. It wasn’t there even a minute and was still playing music. As the night went on a small line and corner piece of the screen showed some possible water damage and the home button works as well as Touch ID but not the “clicking”. In the morning it showed damage on the screen as well on the corner where the battery and percentage is shown. I’m worried that damage will continue. I can live with the lines and corners but I don’t want the phone to get corroded or rusty or have more damage to the charging port. Any help is appreciated!
Power off and don’t charge it! When it comes to liquid damage you need to address it immediately. It’s like dealing with a stain on your favorite shirt, you treat it immediately. You’re going to want to have it looked at by a good independent repair shop to make sure the liquid gets cleaned up otherwise you could cause more damage. Data recovery is possible 95% of the time but it can run a few hundred dollars.
