The microphone on my phone isn’t working properly. I have to use the speakerphone mode so callers can hear me talking. When I try to record a video the audio just makes a static sound. I read the teardown and saw that this phone got a 1/10 for repairability, so can I replace my microphone my self or should I send it in to a professional for repairs?
Yeah. I had the exact same problem. I have inserted a few strands (like 2 - 4 etc.) of a toothbrush into the bottom mic hole very carefully and slightly rotated them inside, in order to wipe any dust accumulated inside this hole. And it works like a charm now. Be careful. Do not harm your mic while trying this. You may puncture it etc. I don’t know the risks exactly, no guarantee. Try it at your own risk.
Believe or not, just suck the bottom Mic like u take a very quick breath. It works with mine
The mic on my HTC one stop working mid conversation. Took it in my locall Vodafone shop and a member of staff there stuck a paper staple into the mic hole on the bottom of the phone and wiggled it about, he said it might be blocked. After a couple of attempts all seams to be back to normal. Then by the time I got home it had stopped working again. Checked on youtube found to video about mic faults and the first video said put some tape over the mic on the back of the phone to the right and above the camera lens. Tried this and all seems good now. But if you record a video the audio is very quiet.
if you can get the mic to work and you’re done putting it on speaker. You have to be willing to open up your phone and replace the charging port connector. The usb port and mic are one piece. I don’t know no why nobody advertises it like that.
I gently wiggled around with a so-called interdental brush and it did the trick as well.
just reconnect the flexes between the charging board and the main board , from both sides , then it ll work fine
