My Nexus 5 will no longer charge using the USB port unless I put pressure on the connection between the cord and phone. I have tried multiple cords so I know that is not the problem. I do have a wireless charger so I can still use the phone, but that charger is at home so charging when I am not home is out of the question. Is it possible to fix or replace the USB port on the phone so it can still be charged?
Yeah it is possible and it’s not that difficult. You can find the part here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/HK-Free-O… And a guide on how to do so here: Nexus 5 Teardown
Before replacing the usb port, I’d recommend to clean it, e.g. with a needle. This helped to solve this problem for me.
