Hello all I have a question, I have a couple of these devices in different capacities (along with the WD My Book) and what I am wanting to know is if it is possible to take the drive out of the inside and put it into another enclosure and make it a portable drive where it does need a power supply?
Yes, it is possible to put this drive in another enclosure (follow this guide). Before you get an external enclosure, make sure you’re getting a SATA enclosure and the enclosure matches your Hard Drive (2.5” or 3.5”).
