Hi I have the very first generation of retina macbook pro 15in. I have been using it since it was released. Few months ago I accidentally spilled a coffee and the logic board was damaged. I have many important things in my computer(pics vids documents) that I didn’t back up plus I love using my macbook pro. Is it possible to buy later version of retina MBP logic board and replace it? (for example 2013,2014,2015 retina MBP logic board)
Here is an enclosure for your SSD for transferring your files over. You can use Recoverit to recover your files. Just download and install it on a Windows or macOS based computer, click external devices recovery and you should be able to get your files from there.
As far as the logic board upgrade, I would probably stay with the 2012 board but go to the top of the line: MacBook Pro 13" Retina 2.9GHz Logic Board, Late 2012 https://www.powerbookmedic.com/MacBook-P… Please tell us why you think the logic board is kaput? Did the spill come in via the keyboard? Finding the part may be difficult.
