Hello guys, My iPhone screen is all smashed up but the LCD is working fine, 3D Touch works and no ink or anything of that sort visible. I was considering only changing the glass and leaving the LCD but I have read that it’s risky. I also don’t want to get ripped of on an aftermarket screen. I found a replacement LCD and screen with Apple branding and the seller claims it’s refurbished. What does he mean by that ? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
It’s not feasible for a DIY person, it requires equipment that costs significantly more than the phone and lots of experience in separating glass from laminated screens to not break them. Trust me just replace the display assembly as a whole, it’s almost impossible to not break the LCD first time trying to do glass only.
refurbished just means its had new glass and frame probably a screen that has had the glass broken before. if you havent done glass replacement before then dont risk it
