I disassembled an Ipad Air 1 as it does not charge when plugged in. I’ve tried switching lightning cables (all OEM) and even with the correct wall adapter. When I try hard reset, the image of the drained battery appears, that is all. The iPad does not respond at all when cable is plugged in. The battery reads an output of 3.5v. Since your videos say 9 times out of 10 it is NOT the charging port. Would a malfunctioning battery display a 3.5v output? Thank you for your assistance!
That does sound like a dead battery, it should be at least 3.7v. Replace the battery and see if that fixes it.
