A few months ago, I took a trip to mexico. Before the trip, I had purchased a waterproof phonecase so I could take pics underwater. I had used it in the pool before and damage had not been done. One day, I went to the beach. I decided to take a video underwater. The waves were tough, and I think that’s where this all went down hill. I think the harsh waves shoved water into the phone case. I got a video, and dried my phone off afterwards. I got salt water in the top left corner of my phone, but didn’t realize it until I got home 2 hours later because I wasn’t using it. I could turn it on and it functions normaly, but because of the water it makes using it very difficult. It taps stuff on my phone uncontrollably, making it difficult to text or whatever. It got a little better over time, but not much. It’s now 2 months later, and I haven’t thought to fix it yet. Is it to late to fix it on my own? Is it to late to see a professional ? Would I need to get a new phone?
No, it is not too late to save your iphone! I recommend opening up your phone, drying off any water that might be inside, and using alcohol to remove any other water. If the problem persists, you could just opt to get a new phone screen, and that should fix any problems that you have. Hope this helps!
Hi salted water is not good at all for any electronic device. !! If your phone is still working it could interesting to make it clean by a professional. The screen is easily damage but it is also easily repaired. The main board is another story… and i have observe that touch id fails after few weeks even with quick dried iphone.
