Hi there amazing community!I’m wanting to upgrade my MacBook Pro 13” Late 2011 Logic Board. Is it compatible with MacBook Pro 13" A1278 Mid 2012 Main Logic Board 2.9GHz 820-3115-B?Also, the Mid 2012 2.9GHz Logic Board I’m looking at already comes with a heat sink, do I need to buy a 2012 heat sink? All the tutorials on YouTube says to buy a 2012 heat sink.Thank you!

this is one of the few times Apple made a carryover system, that is one with very little different from the previous model. To start with the only difference you’ll need to deal with is the LVDS cable as Apple changed venders, there’s a slight tolerance issue as the older cable connector tang is a bit larger. Its an easy fix! All you need is a nail emory board to make a slight adjustment.

And yes you need the heatsink that comes with the new board.

No it is not compatible it time to get a new system
