I have a 2009 HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop. Its in pretty bad shape. Its hinge is broken, it makes !&&* lot of noise, graphics card is trash. But, atleast it could switch on for basic stuff. Now its screen is broken as well. Its divided into 6 parts, consisting of colorful rectangles. Please guide if I replace the screen, will it start working as it used to or there is some major fault? I plan to replace it myself, is it doable?
It looks like you have a few issues here. The screen is broken (the black bar). You could also have a GPU issue here as well. How does the image look on an external display? If you still have the colorful screen the GPU logic has issues. If its clean then the internal connection to the display is suspect.
