I have a friend having battery issues with this device and I could easily pull it out but I want to ensure that the battery is safely replaceable.

Hi @darth_lopez, As long as you buy the replacement battery from the most reputable source you can find, it’s perfectly safe. Why am I stating it like this? Well, some manufacturers aren’t known for the best quality control (QC) and some scammers take old used batteries and rebrand them as new, even altering the information stored on the battery control chips (like cycle count, max charge, etc). I don’t have a source for this battery, but what I would do is search for “MSI GT62VR 6RE “Dominator Pro” battery replacement” and then research the different sources, finding one or more with good reviews from users.

@darth_lopez Create a battery report to check on the status of the battery. In the report, compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value. For a good battery they should nearly be the same. You can also work out what percentage of the Design Capacity that the Full Charge Capacity is now reaching and this will let you know roughly how much longer it can be used before it has to be replaced e.g. is it 80% or 50 % or 30% etc To find suppliers, open the laptop and check what the model number of the battery is in the laptop (printed on battery) and then search online using the battery model number and not the laptop model number. If you find the same “brand” then it should be manufactured to the same specs as required by the laptop maker.
