I seem to have a failing hard drive on my 21.5” iMac with EMC 2833. It has a 2.8Ghz processor. Is this of a series with the 2803 or the 2889? Or is it neither? Can one of these work with my machine?
If you have a HDD model then you can just replace the 2.5” HDD with either another HDD or upgrade it to a 2.5” SSD Here’s the guide to open your system to get to the drive: iMac Intel 21.5" Retina 4K Display Hard Drive Replacement and here’s one option iMac Intel 21.5" (Late 2012-2019) SSD Upgrade Kit as most people just upgrade to the SSD. You’ll need the tools and adhesive strips to open the system that comes in the kit.
