Is The Mechanical Trackpad Button Thinner Than Haptics Magic Keyboard For Ipad Pro

I’m wondering why the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro has a mechanical button under it rather than the force sensing hardware and haptic feedback found in MacBooks and the Magic Trackpad. Is it because it’s thinner? People here may not knows Apple’s reasoning, but they might know which technical solution takes up the most space.

I think it has to do with the haptics parts would be too thick. Maybe next year they will update.
