Hello ! I have an issue with my BIOS where i can’t change a thing in it and after several tries on installing different Linux distributions, it keeps failing to boot after the asked reboot at the end of the installation. I can’t find the CMOS battery on my motherboard to hard reset the computer to factory mode, and I’m a bit ashamed lol ! If anyone can help me, i’ll take it ! Thanks in advance !

When the ACER logo appears, press and hold ‘‘Alt+F10’’ until screen changes. Hopefully you won’t need to dig for the battery.

These Acer “Cloudbooks” use a capacitor backed CMOS RAM, with a reference BIOS setting stored in NVRAM. If the machine has problems with saving BIOS settings, it is due to a bad primary battery, as it is held with a supercapacitor on these. I do not see a CMOS battery on the motherboard on this laptop.
