Chosen Solution
I spilled coffee with sugar on my keyboard. The laptop is running fine but the keys are crunchy… I have taken off the keycaps and removed as much as I can but it has gotten under the mechanism. Is there a guide on how to remove the mechanism without breaking it?
First of all, the mechanism is the infamous butterfly switch and not the scissor switch sadly. There is no great way to take the key caps off because if you do attempt to take the key cap off you will very likely damage the flimsy and delicate butterfly switch. You are kind-of stuck with this now unless you get a new keyboard, which I advise against because the repairability of this machine is horrible too. Just my two cents.
