Chosen Solution

Hi, I hope you can help me! I recently bought a late-2015 27” iMac with a 5K display. (iMac 17,1) The computer I bought was born with a 250GB blade SSD only – this means no SATA-HDD installed from factory. I don’t want to open and take a look; therefore, I was hoping that someone is in the “know”. Will there be a SATA Cable (I already ordered one, I can just sell it if there already is one inside); and will there be any HDD mounting brackets already installed? I have just asked the seller; the computer has not undergone any upgrades since he bought it new in October 2015. Thank you! Rasmus

A virgin Apple iMac with a blade SSD won’t come with the SATA cable. The 27” models does come with the bracket but you will need the screws to mount the 3.5” HDD drive or the adapter frame to hold a 2.5” SSD or HDD. I assume you are planing on adding a drive. Don’t forget to order [linked product missing or disabled: IF174-005-1] as you’ll need the adhesive strips and the pizza cutter tool to remove your display. You will likely want two sets of these Plastic Cards as well. Update (08/02/2019) You need two stud screws and two flat head screws to hold the drive to the frame. Here is the needed screws

iMac 27" Hard Drive Pins (x2) If you are putting in a 2.5” drive you’ll need an adapter frame and then the screws to hold the drive to the adapter frame
