Yes. Use iPhone stock apple app Voice Memos. Make short recording, play back with loud speaker OFF, and then you can test the Proximity Sensor.

On an iPhone 8, IOS 12.1.4, during call screen goes black after i bring it close to the ear. During or after call, once I take the phone from the ear, either to see who is calling or to check anything or to close the connection after ending the call, screen remains black. I need to hit the home button to activate the screen again. O i need to wait a lot to get the screen active again. It looks the sensor is responding in one way but not in the opposite way. Please advice. Thanks
