I’m pretty sure the phone is unusable. But I’d like to retrieve some data (photos, etc) that weren’t synced before the phone died. I’d appreciate any help you could provide.

Possibly! What is the current condition of the device? Was it water damaged? Or is the LCD blacked out from a drop/crack?
