So, my mother left her phone out in the rain and it became water damage, go figure. when this happened the sim card reader decided to fail and would no longer read a sim. i would leave or put a new sim card in and it still would constantly be saying in the top left of the screen “searching”. Is there anyway i can bypass the sim activation screen so that i can atleast use it as an ipod of some sort? or is it completely trashed and garbage at this point.
If the phone is unlocked then you can activate it via iTunes. If the phone is locked to a particular carrier then you will need a SIM card.
