Hi, ive been having problems with my iPhone 7. It’s been having problems with connecting the lightning cable, and battery has been going flat quicky. I can always get it to charge by pulling out the cable, putting it back in, flipping it etc, and it will always work well with a new cable, but somehow I seem to go through a lot of cables quite quickly. They wear out or something. Naturally, I thought the fix was that I need a new battery and charger port assembly, but before buying the parts, I have opened the phone, and there looks like there has been heat damage or something to the logic board. I was hoping the good people here would look at the photos and be able to tell me if it’s a logic board problem or if it’s the battery and charger port. Maybe it’s a combination… Anyways, here’s the photos.
Thanks for any help. I figure if it’s not the logic board, it’s worth attempting a fix.
If the board looks like that when you open it the first time, someone else has been messing with it. Judging by the amount of dirt inside a supposedly water resistant phone, someone definitely messed with it before you own it. The damage on the cable is unlikely to be caused by the board, it looks like corrosion caused by moisture.
