My screen cracked the first day after replacing it. i have a case with a built in screen protector and a extra glass screen protector. The only way it could have cracked is on my pocket. Is this covered under any of the warranties?
I presume you had this repaired at an independent repair shop. I can’t speak for the shop you went to but generally speaking, replacement screens are not covered for physical damage (i.e. cracks) once they are installed. There may be extenuating circumstances at play, such as a poor quality batch of replacement screen, dents (or bends) in the housing which apply a pressure point, incorrect installation by a rookie tech, etc but only the shop can determine that. Go to the shop and explain the situation and see what they can do. If you’re nice about it, they may give you a break. Keep in mind that they can do nothing with a cracked screen…their supplier won’t take it back either. So if there is nothing that indicates they did something wrong, they can only assume that you did something wrong, even if involuntarily. Good luck. P.S. if it’s Apple…pretty much the same thing applies. P.P.S if you bought the screen from iFixit and installed it yourself…the same thing applies (although they are cooler and nicer!) iFixit’s Lifetime Warranty is limited to our US store. For European warranty policies, see our EU store. Batteries and other consumables are not covered by the Lifetime Warranty. Accidental damage, normal wear and tear, and labor costs are also not covered. This Lifetime Warranty lasts as long as you own the item. iFixit will replace any defective or malfunctioning product at no charge; if the part is no longer available, we will provide a refund.
